Jeanne, I'd love to read it all and have a discussion,
too.
For all of you following our Healthy Harvest community
project, we had a booth at yesterday's city-wide garage
sale with some of our produce on display and had 22 new
people sign up to become involved, which brings us to 37.
I know it doesn't sound like a lot, but considering our
town has 49 people, and the other has less than 400, and
we just started, I think this is significant response to
starting a local food movement.
At our second meeting, we found out one couple had planted
44 olive trees in hopes of eventually pressing olive oil,
and that someone is already doing that south of us about
75 miles. Another farmer showed up who has 150 acres
interested in growing. Looks like a farmers market is
going to evolve. We also found a man who is trading us
okra and Jerusalem artichokes for our eggs, and some new
customers for eggs.

It would be great if all on this list read the article
all the way to the end (it is very long) and then we have
a discussion about what it has to say. Some of my own
thought are expressed below.
