Thanks for the link. this really is becoming confusing. Weren't most banks
"local" type banks during the Great Depression?
Until this link, practically every article I've read, said (for example)this
credit crisis would keep the local mom & pop shoe store from placing their
orders and effectively shut down even small-town main streets. I do wonder
of the house repubs are right and this is just a ploy to further enrich the
Fed and the flying monkey boy bankers.
Of course, doesn't help me much; thousnads of banks (branches) here, but I
consider Morgan/Chase my hometown bank, now. I use to bank at a bank with
Arizona in the name (first arizona?), but they were bought out by the bank
that was bought by the bank that was bought out by Chase.
Maybe all of us banking at large nationals should switch our accounts to
small locals; But, then wouldn't, because of size, the small locals become
the new large nationals? ..............bobford

Subject: [Homestead] Small Banks Doing Fine
We've touched on this in several of the threads. It is NOT the small banks
that are at risk as much as large banks. Prima facia evidence is that your
small bank is still doing fine and one of the largest in the world (WaMu)
just
failed.
