Agreed. My main protection against problems like this has been to put
most of what I have into my land and the improvements I'm making. The
fact that I am on my place and making improvements is a big comfort in
this situation.
I called my mom in town last night and recommended for her what I will
do. Have some cash on hand for the near future. The banks pays little
in interest and having $1000 or so on hand might be a good thing. Just
like in a hurricane.
