Lynn, wasn't she paraphrasing a quotation from Lincol?. I'm not religious,
but when I was young, they always had a church service for my relatives
before they were shipped off to Viet Nam. I think the idea is that you are
praying NOT for G-d to be on your side but that you are on G-d's side. I
think it is a pretty standard "Johnny Goes Off To War" type church prayer.
Maybe someone's whose actually been in a church in the past 30 years (I
haven't) can clarify; but I'm pretty sure that's borrowed from Lincoln, and
