I was hoping my comment didn't come off as some sort of personal vendetta.
I guess new organizations always run into a bunch of speed bumps. One of
ours was our attempt to organize a blood drive. It was confirmed a long time
ago
by all kinds of agencies, including CalTrans, that in the case of a major
'event' we'd better be prepared to be on our own for 5-7 days, and would be
cut
off from food, medical, fuel, etc.
Once I got to thinking about the blood bank, which is way down the hill in
San Bernardino, and the fact that blood is distributed on a first-come
first-serve basis, I figured that our blood would be unreachable...and would
probably be gone anyway by the time we get to it. We're not airlift-capable
yet, but
we're working on it!
