Anyway if your blackpowder is a large caliber you might want to watch
where you hit the raccoon,
Do you think a 50 caliber Hawken is a bit much? "I know I hit it, it has
to be around here someplace."
Besides the one I have in the trailer is still in a kit, the completed one
is, like everything else, in storage. I am planning on visiting my son in
NC this fall and the most direct route takes me though Union City, Tenn.,
home of Dixie Gun Works. I am thinking of buying the parts to make a 32
caliber Kentucky style flintlock with the longest barrel I can find. I do
have the parts to fix a Navy style open top Colt I was given some time ago.
Good hunting Don & watch your fingers while you're clearing the brush
After a discussion of Copperheads recently, I wear gloves and never put my
hands where I cannot see them. Most of the brush is cleared for the near
term. I need to clean out the cut up stuff from the garden and clear an
area to the south of the garden and there is another small are just to the
south of what I did today. Tomorrow the job is to clean the garden and
start clearing to where I can get some blocks to make temporary steps into
the A-Frame.
