Rob, if there are limestone quarries in your area, consider
limestone sand or

I expect to get some soil analysis of our new place so as to become
more smart about the "dirt" and what to do for it. We won't have a
herd of cattle or more than a couple horses to get natural treatment
from.
Recently I stopped by a monster lime spreader truck at the roadside.
I had just finished spreading lime on a field. From that, I assume
you can hire folks with such specialized spreaders and access to tons
and tons of lime to do the job.
There IS a lime kiln near by here of huge size, but I have no idea
what the situation is in New York.
