Hi there, Gene--and Rob!
Gene, you bought a used golf cart for Chris? Now you got me wondering if I
should go borrow my mother's electric wheelchair and use that to drag my
strawbales--she lives just up the street, and her electric rig is built like
a tank. But I'd have to drive her chair down the hill to our place and it
might get up a pretty good head of steam before I could get it stopped. If I
could get it stopped...I don't recollect seeing a brake on it. I'll have to
think about this some more... the electric wheelchair should work as long as
the ground isn't too wet and muddy. I do have a regular wheelchair I keep on
hand to get Mother from the van into the house. I'm thinking now I could
drag/tip half a bale if not the whole bale from the van onto the seat of the
wheelchair, and then move the wheelchair to where I need the bale. I think
I'd have an easier time using the wheelchair to transport stuff than our big
old wheelbarrow, and I won't have to drag a tarp over the ground. Though I'd
better have the shop vac ready to clean out the van.
