Yes, but let's have the others as well. Some say it is from the Dutch "Jan
Kaas" = "John Cheese", that is a dairy farmer.
My favorite, wouldn't you know, is that it is derived from the Cherokee word
"e-an-ke" = 'coward'. Unlikely, but I like it.
