I just saw an ad for a voip telephone device called "magicjack". They have a
website at www.magicjack.com
I think I'm going to give it a try, at 40 dollars for the hardware and a
year of local and longdistance service in the US and Canada. I have a need
for a phone line at the office which already has broadband and 40 dollars
won't begin to install a business line from the telephone company much less
allow service for a year.
If it works at the office on cable it may work at home where we are trying
to work out the kinks in hughesnet service. If that works I will gladly drop
my bellsouth line.
I realize this isn't exactly what y'all were talking about but eliminating a
phone line is always nice.
