I read those things too and the notion about 'certain soils or water'. But
when the investigators tried to find what was in common among all those sundry
locations about the globe, they were flummoxed.
What the DID observe about
all those populations was that almost all their food came from only a few
hundred yards from where they lived. It seemed it was food from the same source
(albeit organic and low on the food chain for the most part as well) all their
lives that was a determining factor. Talk about locavores!

Lisa, first ask why you got a cold? Best probabilities are stress,
negative thoughts and an incomplete diet. I am not sure how many years
now that I have not had a cold. If I feel one coming on I do one
thing: I stop eating. It works.
I think that if someone is for some reason unable to obtain a good
diet, then certain supplements might ward off illness.
