Here's what Ma Clanton said about McCain's apparent victory:
"We have tried it President Bush's way, and now the Republicans have
chosen more of the same."
If anything, the religious right's stranglehold over the Republican
party has been broken. Ever since the 1980 they got their way at every
Repubican convention. This is the first time the nominee will be
someone they vigorously opposed. Of course, she doesn't want anyone to
know that.
The tide is turning. The sow didn't win a single state this weekend.
Maybe with any luck, this will be the first time in recent memory that
both nominees will be honorable individuals.
