The walls are built of three layers of bricks placed side by side,
which makes them about 6 or 7 inches thick (bricks were wider when the
house was built than they are today). If there is no wind, the house
holds heat and cold very well. If I ever get the windows replaced, it
will be extremely energy efficient.
