Thanks for the 'welcome' Gene. I've been lurking for a while and
have been picking up lots of good and interesting info, etc.
The Jenkins book is great. The entire thing is actually online
(http://weblife.org/humanure/default.html). I lend my copy out
regularly- it almost always 'brings around' fecophobes to at least
accepting the idea of humanure, but getting them to seriously
consider implementing a humanure system is a different story! My
wife was on the fence about it in our little house that we're rebuild-
o-vating. Of course one reason I was pushing for it was so I could
eliminate one element from my replumbing job, so I built what I will
say is probably one of the nicest humanure toilets ever- beadboard
panelled, trimmed, etc. etc. Alas, it was not enough and when it
came down to it marital health demanded a flush toilet. The humanure
toiled sits in a corner in the basement (waiting for the day the
ancient septic system gives up the ghost and it gets another shot at
'life').
