Affordable is the wrong word, it should be competitive. As oil prices
increase other technologies and oil sources become competitive but not
necessarily affordable. The current ethanol debacle should be teaching us
that lesson. One of the problems with adopting those technologies is the
real fear that oil prices will drop if demand drops so do not expect
anything new until oil prices maintain sustained high levels.
