Last week I went up by Bremerton Washington, I went 4 or 5 miles
north of there on Hwy 3 then took a right looking for a football
field that was hosting a track meet.
I got off hwy 3, was following the directions and I found my self in
a sales type area. The first thing that grabbed my eye was a "farm
store" with a big "Ducks & chicks" sign. It's been a long time since
I saw a farm store advertising fowl.
This is an almost rural area, close to the "big city". Bremerton is
just an hour ferry ride away from downtown Seattle.
The only reason I mention this is because I realize that there are
some folk who won't (or can't) give up the city based income/career
but still want a home life a little closer to what I consider 'good'.
Another semi rural area that's an easy commute to Seattle is Vashon
Island (zip code is 98070). This is a true island, the ferry or your
own boat is the only way on or off. Island life does have it's own
set of adjustments
I'm bringing these up in case someone is interested.
