This is one advantage to the Ford "N" tractors, there
were so many of them. And the old "johny pops" not
only were there lots of them but they run even after
they are worn out.

Which is why I posted it. I know there are plenty
of folks who have
never grown or eaten okra, and those that have eaten
it, usually have
eaten it fried and liked it, or eaten it boiled or
steamed and did not
due to it's characteristic often slimy texture when
prepared that way.
Pickled okra is not slimy, and when I ate it raw it
wasn't slimy,
although I will say that the more I chewed it, the
more slimy it
seemed, so I took small bites and chewed 5 or 6
times for the taste and
then swallowed it.
Van Dell, you are in mid northern Missouri, right? If you can grow corn,
you can grow okra. It's really good for you and
despite it's
reputation, it's tasty and easy to grow, prepare,
and can. It also
produces continuously, so those on a budget get
their money's worth from
a few okra plants. Try it next year.

SISU! (Finnish--There is no single word in English

all that sisu means, but it combines the following
ideas: guts, pep,
determination, stubbornness, perseverance,
hardiness, stamina, go, do,

It!" & "Go for It!")
