I detest hypocritical politicians who vocally exhort citizens to
support the military while signing pay cuts in their many forms, now

Yes, it is all relative. When I was in Basic Training in late '54 the
food was in fact so good and plentiful and the work was so easy that
I gained fifteen pounds in those eight weeks. It was soft living for
a skinny farm boy.

I was another, I joined the Navy to get away from a drunken, womanizing
father and to learn electronics. I succeeded in doing both and later the
G.I. Bill paid for college. I am now in that town and visited the farm
today and I am very glad I got away from here when I did.
