Flooded Lead-acid batteries can be either sealed or open. Their charging
characteristics are the same. However one must be cautious with sealed
batteries so they are not overcharged. Deep cycle lead-acid batteries are
usually overcharged on the charging cycle, these are open types, so that the
gas from the electrolyte boiling can escape and not cause the battery to
blow-up. The question is: does your charger have an overcharge section to
the charging curve?
