I wonder why, exactly. Is it the hub-bub, noise, pollution, etc. type
environment of a city, or is it attitude? Rural folk have deadlines and
life can be pretty damn busy, stressful and hectic, too.
Country air is cleaner. Mostly I think superior rural health is the result
of being surrounded by lots of natural space, which has a calming effect on
our species. We are territorial animals and feel less threatened and
therefor have less tension when we have excessive space between us and that
strange-looking potential mugger or those weaving cars.
