>>Flooding in the Snoqualmie area closed a few roads Friday,
officially kicking off what meteorologists say will be an active
winter of heavy rain, windstorms and floods in Western Washington.
Severe winter weather will result from warm ocean surface
temperatures in tropical waters in the east and central Pacific
Ocean, according to Buehner. He warned of floods and widespread power
failures caused by the weather similar to that of the winter of 1995-96.<<
If the Pacific Ocean temps are going to make a winter here similar to
that of 95-96 I would think that those same forces would affect the
winter in more places than just the PNW.
Anyone remember the winter of 95-96? I was in Michigan that winter,
lot's of "lake effect" snow & I froze the thumb on my left hand. I
don't think that will be a problem here in the NW.
