Don Bowen, please remind us what system you are using. In response to my
question, here is the reply from our old list member, Vern Modeland,
currently staying cool in Colorado.
Our system is Tripod Mounted Direcway home service. The installer was Roger
Odem (Global Satellite Solutions -- see web page and his e-mail address is
@). He came to us to install but following the initial setup, we can move
it where we want in 49 US sates and parts of Mexico that our satellite
covers and still be within the intent of the law and service. "We" are now
some 250,000 strong, I read.
We get good speeds, comparable with what we got on the DSL at Southshore.
Cost is $59.95 a month. Equipment and software (you'll use one of your
computers as control. It has its own modem and WiFi router, all cables.,
antenna, feed horn, tripod and such, was around $1250 plus a couple of
extras I bought. Turn key.
There are other installers. Many. But I know and trust Roger and his
"significant other," Gloria Cook.
Photo below is of setup here in the Wet Mountain Valley. The modem and WiFi
router are at my right foot as I type. It is rather small in here compared
to your Heartwood corporate headquarters.
Oh, ya. 58 degrees here as the sun slides over the mountains.
Hi from Phyllis, too.
Vern
