In effect, a type of 'glazing' providing
no means for insects to hide - one of
the real drawbacks to living in areas
of no winters to kill parasites-infested
'homes/possessions'.
Don't know where you experienced winter kill, but in the Ozarks, which gets
plenty of winter freeze, ticks and chiggers hibernate and come out strong
in the spring. Some tiny critters go deep into the ground or trees.
Survival is evolution-created genius in all species.
