The citizens of Arlington financed the new ballpark with an additional 1/2 cent sales tax. Most of the revenues from the ballpark stayed with the Rangers. Bush's initial investment was before the new ballpark. He sold his share when the value escalated due to the new ballpark and associated revenues - parking, food service, etc. Now the Dallas Cowboys are in the process of negotiating a similar deal with Arlington, except this time the Cowboys will pay for 1/2 the new stadium.
