Paw Paw Tasting Tour Thursday, October 8, 2015, 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Cornell Paw Paw Orchard, Sweazy Road, Lansing Free! Visit the largest area paw paw orchard in NYS for a tasting tour! Paw paws are large, tropical-tasting fruits that are native to the United States. The flesh is very soft when ripe and has a flavor that's like a cross between mango and banana. They will
grow in zone 5 climates like upstate NY. There will be paw-paws for tasting as well as a limited amount to take home. Information on propagating paw paw trees from the seeds will be provided. There is no charge for this tour. Participants can drive themselves,
or can get a ride on a van that will be leaving from Cornell Cooperative Extension (615 Willow Avenue, Ithaca) at
5:00 pm. To reserve a seat on the van, call 272-2292 or email
Chrys Gardener. If you are driving yourself, we will meet at the parking lot in front of the orchard barn at 5:15 pm. The orchard is located on Sweazy Road in Lansing. For more information and a map showing the location of the paw paw orchard, go to ccetompkins.org/events Chrys Gardener |
