Details: If you’re interested in learning permaculture design and
practical strategies for sustainable systems, you might be interested in
the Finger Lakes Permaculture Institute’s upcoming Community Training In
Ecological Design class. This free informational session is an
opportunity find out more about the course topics and outcomes, meet the
instructors, and have an opportunity to ask questions about the class.
Permaculture is a design system that mimics the patterns and processes
found in nature. Community Training in Ecological Design students will
learn strategies for garden and farm-scale systems that meet human needs
while improving ecosystem health. With a focus on practical skills like
site mapping, assessment, planning, and design skills, students finish
the course with maps of their own sites for implementation.
CTED involves 36 hours of instruction and covers topics including
polyculture gardening, backyard poultry, mushroom cultivation, and more.
There is a sliding scale cost of $200-600 based on what students can afford.
