Keeping Critters Out of the Garden Thursday, May 1 6:30-8:00 pm 4H Acres, Lower Creek Road, Ithaca
Learn strategies to keep wildlife from eating your edible and ornamental plantings, such as protecting vegetable gardens from deer, woodchucks and rabbits, protecting shrubs from deer browsing in winter, and protecting fruit tree trunks from chewing rodents. Come dressed for the weather and gardening work - the class will include a hands-on practicum in setting up deer fencing, protecting tree trunks from rodents and constructing shrub cages. Cost: $5-$10 (sliding scale)
