Volunteers are needed to help with lunchtime tastings of a new Cool School
Food recipe in all Ithaca elementary schools! If you are interested in healthy
school food and Farm to School programs, this is a great opportunity
to get involved. See below for specific dates and schools.
The new recipe is a delicious North African red lentil stew. In each school, volunteers will help with set up, nutrition education, and helping children to vote on the recipes. Volunteers must be available for all lunch periods - usually about 2.5 hours total - which varies by school (see schedule below).

Thursday, Nov. 29 – BJM [9:45am – 12:05 pm]
Friday, Nov. 30 - Fall Creek [10:00 am – 1:00 pm]
Tuesday, Dec. 4 - Belle Sherman & Annex [10:00 am – 12:05 pm]
Wednesday, Dec. 5 – Northeast [10:15 am – 12:45 pm]
Thursday, Dec. 6 – Enfield [10:00 am – 1:10 pm]
Tuesday, Dec. 11 – Caroline [10:00 am – 12:40 pm]
Wednesday, Dec. 12 - Cayuga Heights [10:10 am – 12:30 pm]
Thursday, Dec. 13 – South Hill [10:25 am – 1:00 pm]
Cool School Food in Ithaca is a partnership of the New York Coalition for Healthy School Food, the Ithaca City School District Child Nutrition Program, Moosewood Restaurant, and Cayuga Pure Organics.
