Dear ROSEANN,
If you've been following the news about natural gas, you know we're in big trouble.
Throughout the country politicians are championing natural gas as a safe alternative to oil and coal, despite widespread water contamination, earthquakes, and serious public health consequences linked to fracking. Our elected officials will continue to put the interests of the gas industry ahead of the American people unless someone changes the conversation.
That’s why Water Defense is expanding our efforts. We have a new executive director, Claire Sandberg, who, as a co-founder of Frack Action, was instrumental in passing New York's moratorium on fracking. Since then, she's emerged as one of the clearest, most consistent voices demanding a statewide ban on fracking in New York. With her at the helm, Water Defense is in good hands.
We’ve also ramped up our online presence by building a new website and starting a new Facebook page. In the next couple of weeks we’ll unveil our campaign that will take on the gas industry and debunk their lies. To stay in the loop, join our mailing list, like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter. And don't forget to forward this email to ten of your friends and family.
Last year Water Defense shone a national spotlight on the suffering of the families in Dimock, PA, whose water has been contaminated by fracking. With your help we delivered thousands of gallons of water and successfully pressured the EPA to launch a precedent setting investigation.
Ultimately, however we cannot win the fight on fossil fuels unless we transform our entire energy conversation. We have a choice. Renewable energy solutions are here now. Together we can build a movement for a clean energy economy and toss fossil fuels into the dustbin of history.
Will you join us? Mark Ruffalo |
We're stepping up our game at Water Defense with our new executive director and an amazing new website!
