The root here is Y(D, or as some say W(D. (DH is a root with the meaning of “to adorn” as in putting on jewelry. (DD is considered a variant of (WD to do a second time, as in reporting what one witnessed. Biblical Hebrew was pretty careful with its roots, not mixing them up even though their derivatives may share the same consonantal spellings.
