Notice that KELEB, 'dog', and KLUB, 'cage, basket', (as in Jer.
5:27), are both from the root KLB. In 1Ch. 2:9 we find the name
KLUBAY. As I see it, there is no compelling reason to relate the name
KALEB to 'dog'. All we can say about it is that it appears to contain
the root KLB.

Is there even a one in a billion chance that the word Caleb in
Hebrew did not mean "dog", but had other vowels?
