One hears it in AB-BIY,
'my father', AX-XIY, 'my brother', etc. Those who say they don't
hear it need to pay closer attention.
I don't hear it, though there is natural length on the accented vowel.
In Arabic one does hear lengthened consonants.
However, I don't think that dagesh is Pere's question.
I 'm guessing that he wants to know about pi``al vs. pi``el.
