I agree with you that compiled Hebrew words possibly preserves old
obsolete forms, for instance, the compound $AMAR-TIY, 'I guarded',
with an obsolete ATIY instead of ANIY, or the SMIKUT construction BN-
EIY = BN-HI)-HI) for and old plural form. I see SAPR-UT as SAPR-HU)-
AT, with the combined pronoun -HU)-AT, both referring to the art. The
piling up is needed here since SAPR-U is already taken.
The jointed pronouns need not correspond to the current separate ones.
