I think you are aware of the far from complete, and only tentative,
knowledge of this resurrected language you call Hurrian.
I would look for the meaning (which in my opinion should be of a
physical nature) of the name in the related Hebrew roots
גבר גפר
הבר
חבר חפר חור
כבר כפר
קבר
possibly referring to a group or a pile of houses covering a hill.
