Subject: [b-hebrew] a simple rule for Hebrew stress

Hebrew stress can be described as moraic bisyllabic. Stress is normally
on the second syllable of each morae: catAv, davAr, catAvti, wecAtavtI
(emphatic stress makes the schwa under waw highly vocal, unlike in
w’catAvti), wayyOmer, dvarchA.
In singular segholate nouns, this rule is overridden by vulgar
word-initial stress shift (calAv - cAlav - cal'v - calb).
