For the sake of lay persons like me, who have (comfortably, I say)
accustomed to 'Yahweh' over the traditional 'Jehovah' as the English
pronunciation of YHWH, can someone post a SUMMARY only of (1) How
Yahweh came to be proposed (history, proponents, and literature) and
(2) Major critique on this proposed pronunciation (history, opponents,
and literature)?
Or is there any such resource in published form in books, journals, or
webpages?
Thank you very much.
Oun Kwon.
P.S. Not much about Greek vs. Hebrew, as I have heard enough about the
problems in this respect.
