to the bible man was not as intellectually and emotionally astute
before he ate from the tree of knowledge as he was after the fact.
HH: It is not necessary to arrive at this conclusion from the Genesis
story. The reason Adam knew evil was that he was now a victim of it by
succumbing to the temptation to do evil. He knew by experience what it
was to rebel against God and do wrong. He knew guilt and would know
punishment. Yes, he knew something he did not know before, but it was
not to his advantage to do so, really.
