Hi Folks,If the honour of KJV is under threat from proper scholarly investigation demonstrating that it is not a perfect translation, then that is not legitimate honour and ought to be diminished.
Harold
It is derogatory to suggest that he wants to diminish the legitimate honor of the King James Version in any way.
Schmuel
Nonsense. It is a common stance of the folks who write books seeking to
assert
various errors in the King James Bible to give lip-service to their high
regard for the
one Bible that they actively and consistently attack.
...
Whatever spin you want to put on the situation, any reference to the Price book (that tries to paint those who truly consider the King James Bible the inspired
and preserved word of God as 'cultists' - rather a vitriolic stance) ...
... should -- for integrity sake -- properly state that he has an active position in a competing, alternative translation. This is a matter of public knowledge. I guess it is also disclosed in the book itself. It is always wise to check what is publicly known about an author's publications etc before taking a book too seriously. I would want to check your credentials on this issue, Schmuel, before taking anything you write too seriously.
...Do you have any evidence that any of these people have failed to disclose anything? As Kevin Woodruff is in none of these positions, he cannot be expected to disclose this in a short note.
A writer, or editor, or publisher, should not consciously and deliberately leave out proper disclosure in distributing or marketing a book.
