The conventional Heb. spelling is with an Alef at the end:Thank you. I see from 50:27 that the Greek text has Ἰησοῦς υἱὸς Σιραχ Ελεαζαρ [IHSOUS hUIOS SIRAC ELEAZAR] "Joshua [or Jesus] son of Sirach Eleazar" for the name but, according to in http://ccat.sas.upenn.edu/gopher/text/religion/biblical/parallel/27.Sirach.par, the Hebrew form is apparently שמעון בן אלעזר בן סירא [&M(WN BN )L(ZR BN SYR)] "Simeon son of Eleazar son of Sira". The difference between "Joshua" and "Simeon" is interesting. The unusual rendering of Hebrew aleph as Greek chi suggests something more than transliteration happening also with this name.
Ben Sira.
