The date of the vision is not the subject. However, the date the decree was
made and who it was made by, is important. As per the prophecy, the 70 weeks
was to start from that decree, and therefore it is important in order to find
the terminus a quo.

Why is it so important to put a BC date or dates on the vision shown to
Daniel? When in fact it is still future from where we are today!

Svetlana:
Which version of the text are you using? I just checked two different
electronic editions (both free downloads) and neither have the Hebrew
words that you quoted below.
The work is quite encompassing and for this reason it might seem =
intimidating to a new user but once you have spent some time learning =
the use of BW it becomes your constant companion while on the computer.
Aah so! I might should ought to mention that it is not free but well =
worth every $$.

Thank you for the help, additionaly I did not find the transliteration for
Vav as a Vowel and Vav as a Consonant?
Also what is the transliteration for a Chireq?
Thanks,
Seth Knorr
Yonah Mishael <yonahmishael AT gmail.com> wrote:
Information about the transliteration scheme can be found at this URL: http://www.ibiblio.org/bhebrew/
Since Hebrew is most often written without vowels, it is a natural thing for
list members to exclude vowels in their transliterations. Transliterations
are from left-to-right in the common English order.
(M or (AM = "am" ×¢× (people)
A is for "patach"
MLK or MELEK = "melekh" ××× (king, ruler)
E is for "segol"
MLK or MFLAK = "malakh" ×Ö¸×Ö·×Ö° (he ruled, reigned, etc.)
F is for "qamats"
SPR or S"PER = "sefer" ספר (book, scroll)
" is for "tsere"
