Yes, you're right, the THWM is not said to be separated into parts -- that
was careless expression on my part. But the point you raise is part of the
point I was making, too: the Gen 1 account presents a non-divine THWM which
is merely an object, not a being. The connection I mentioned with the Tiamat
of other accounts is direct, but it is a contrasting connection -- that is,
Gen 1 contrasts directly with the other accounts by directly and dliberately
presenting an inanimate THWM.
