Short of absolute concordant translation (which raises more problems than it
solves) the loss of these often very real literary connections is a somewhat
unavoidable side effect of rendering the meaning of an ancient text into a
modern language.
Someone needs to set up a discussion/debate between R.Alter and R. de Blois
on lexical semantics of Biblical Hebrew.
