I thought that a contemporary note on this topic might be amusing.
In today's "Saturday Interview " in The Times ( London ), the subject is "
the Honourable Richard Owen, United States District Judge, who has just
sentenced Frank Quattrone to 18 months in jail, a severe punishment for
obstruction of justice."
Early on in the article, the journalist remarks: >> The 81-year-old judge
has a fearsome reputation. Defence lawyers say that having Judge Owen
preside is like having another prosecutor in court. <<
