modern Hebrew speakers *often* drop the object, don't
they?
Definitely do. "Atah rotzeh?" is a perfect example, but it also works on
things like "'asiti kvar".
But on the other hand after speaking so much Modern Hebrew, I can't tell
whether my Aussie mates say "you want?" or whether that's a Hebraism I've
adopted into my English where I should really be adding "some"...
