Some time before the first century of the common era, a group of Jewish
scholars in Egypt translated the Hebrew Bible into Greek. Admittedly, there
are a number of problems in comparing the Masoretic text with the LXX. But
there are a few places that I think it is unlikely that they correctly
translated the intent of the original. For example, in Numbers 23:22 the ox
became a unicorn.
