hi.
this is a point i've often made with conservative students: even a
hellenistic composition may attest to a historical moses. regardless,
there's never PROOF either way, 100%. that goes without saying.
but i think there is something to be said about date and place of
composition when considering reliability... or at least ideology...
i would also think, for students of israelite religion, that it would make
a difference if D < P, or vice versa. after all, isn't this what all the
fuss is about, from Kaufmann onwards....? that traditionally P < D
necessarily?
