While chanting the Weekly Portion in the synagogue today, I came across
the word QNK in Deut. 32:6, which I know is vocalized with a qametz
gadol/segol/qametz, even though the Q appears to be an open syllable.
I can't remember why, and I can't find the explanation in my books on
the accent marks (maybe I don't know what to look for).
Can someone help me out on this one.
