i do minimalism if i have to... though more interested in head-driven
phrase structure grammar. my dissertation (1995) supposed the
government-binding (GB) approach.
i do find the business about optimality theory (OT) and its relation
to economy and minimalism an interesting area of thought/speculation.
hebrew grammar is pretty opaque, which is why OT and tiberian
phonology leaves much to be desired. i just about choked on benua's
thesis on hebrew and OT.... ;-)
