that is a good translation/canonical position.
after working with it you may find yourself moving all the way to an MT
position.
that is, translate MT, footnote anything else.
thus, jewish publication society, and also argued by immanuel tov.
as someone working in central asia you are probably aware that such a
position is not "orthodox christian" in the greek sense of the word. but it
is historically defensible as long as you let the synogogue define the
canon that they give to the world.
in any case, i would favor translating the MT, even in all those places
were english bibles say "MT unclear". it usually is not 'that unclear' but
commincates something.
