Subject: The usage of OUN??
Date: Tue, 30 Mar 1999 23:43:22
Dear B-Greekers,
in addition to GAR, I have found OUN difficult to handle. I often
feel that translating it to "therefore" or "then" imposes too strong
a connection between OUN sentences and what goes before them. I
remember that OUN is often used interchangeablely with DE, as
evidenced by textual variants. Then I do not seem to grasp the
semantic range of OUN. I would appreciate if you can explain
the semantic range of OUN to me, which can mean from "therefore"
to "DE" depending on context. Some references?
Sincerely
Moon
